How to say "TOO MUCH 〜すぎ" in Japanese!

This structure allows you describe when there is too much of something. This structure is made by adding 〜すぎ after verbs, い adjectives and な

Remove the ます and replace with すぎる。

Vます  +  すぎる  = はなし すぎる =  talk too much


たべすぎます Eat too much

べんきょうすぎます Study too much


今日は ちょっと  はたらきすぎました。Today I worked a little too much!


Remove the い and replace with すぎる。

ADJ(い)  +  すぎる  =   たかすぎる =too tall/expensive


大きすぎます Too big

可愛すぎます Too cute


今、先生 は いそがしすぎます。The teacher is too busy at the moment.


Remove the な and replace with すぎる。

ADJ(な)  +  すぎる  =   しずか すぎる =too quiet


親切すぎます Too generous

綺麗すぎます Too beautiful


この部屋はしずかすぎますね!This room is too quite!
